Andrei Sharonov, Moscow Deputy Mayor, visited EcoBazaar in Mytishchi, near Moscow. According to Moscow's Department of Trade and Services press service, the farmers' market project was created on the basis of research into international practices in the area of food market construction

The total area of the Mytishchi market is 10 thousand square meters, 3000 of those are allocated for retail trade of farm and food products, 1500 sq. meters are allotted to nonfood retail trade shops, and 500 "squares" are given to companies that provide related services. EcoBazaar also provides a processing area with storage rooms and presale product preparation shops.

Cash flow with tenants is completely eliminated in EcoBazaar; all transactions are conducted on a non-cash basis. Tenant selection is done on a competitive basis, in order to grant retail space primarily to Russian farmers, homesteads and producers that manufacture high quality, ecologically friendly or unique regional products.
